348 - 409 Heads

From reading some posts here, I have seen the people talking about 333, 583 and 690 cyl heads, therefore I ask you...what's the difference between these heads ? What does it mean ? Any input would be very appreciated !

Low to high performance heads,,,
The 333`s are a low performance truck heads and the 690 is the HP 409 head .The 583 is basically the same as the 690 only has been updated with lower spring pockets and a little beefer in the casting,,,,

Are the 409 truck heads compatible with the 348 passenger car intake manifolds?

Yes, any 348 intake manifold will work with the 409 truck heads. These heads are actually 348 heads with a combustion chamber to lower compression.
