Randy's drunk lol
Welllll, i made sure to give her the part number lol. And it probably helps she doesn’t know how much I have invested in this project .Heck of a wife you got there, don't let her go!! Even if she ordered a small block gasket set she still gets full credit A+
That's funny as I always do the same thing for my wife when Christmas, birthday, father's day and anniversaries are coming I send her a link with the part numbers., price and supplierWelllll, i made sure to give her the part number lol. So extremely carefully use a brake cylinder hone or what’s best? You mentioned that the block was "burned & blasted". The blasting could have rolled/created a burr on the ends of the lifter bores.
Jeff
Yeah I knew they were supposed to be .842, I figured the mic just wasn’t quite accurate enough, I need to get a quality mic set.Check the bores for burrs. The lifter should measure .842 give or take a couple tenths. Bores should measure .844 give or take a couple tenths.
I don’t have an old lifter, but I may be able to get one and checkI think I'd polish down an old used lifter a bit and use it try to see exactly what is going on. They also make a dingle ball hone that might help, but it's a bit surprising, if anything you sometimes see those bores wallowed out and/or egg-shaped.
