A classic example of a crew doing whatever it takes to get it done. Those engines routinely handled 70 car trains over the Wasatch unassisted back in the day. With today's roller bearing wheels, the modern welded rail and concrete ties, these could handle 150-200 car trains today. An impressive piece of technology at any time!

I believe it is just used for excursions.
Way cool, more power than traction. Flaunt it if you got it. Wasatch Mountians near Truckee...think we visited a museum or repair shop at Truckee.
