409 Block casting question

Is a 3830814 a common casting for 409 blocks for a 1962? I looked it up on this site and come up with the below info and it does not include 1962. If it is common for 1962 maybe the info could be updated.
Again thanks for all the help.

Nelson

I added a picture and yes it is a CFD block.

The 814 block was used for the 1963 cars and the 068 block was used in 1962. The castings all have a date code on them to identify when they were made.

Just a minor technicality, but julian date codes were not always 3 digits. Zeros were not placed in front so the first three digit date code would be 100. January 1 would be julian date code 1.

I don't shop except for car or airplane stuff. Not my department and if I did I would screw it up. Wifey handles that department and she's got it under control. SLC is an 11 hour drive from here so we don't visit very often. We'll wait for them to get settled into their new life of no sleep and poopy diapers before making the trip. Besides they have YUCKY snow up there.:barf:nono1:
