409's Forever

What a great site! My name is Jim and I live in Oregon. I am a former transplanted Southern Californian and grew up around cruising and drag racing in So-Cal. during the 60's. I have had 409's since 1962. (62 Chevy SS 409), (63 Chevy SS 409), 55 Chevy 409 and a 1956 Chevy Pick-up w/ 409. I sold my last 409 in 1971 to a friend of mine and just got it back last month. It has been stored in his garage since 71 and it looks just like I left it some thirty five years later. Well now I have to find something to put it in! I do have a question about the carbs.
I am trying to find out the stock jetting/metering rod sizes for the 3361 and 3362 carbs. Man, I wish I had a Carter Catalog. Also I need to know the same things for a single 3783 4 barrel carb. Can anyone out there help? This is by far the coolest web site I have ever come across. It seems like everyone is trying to help whomever has a problem. That is just too cool.

Jim,
Welcome to the best 409 site on the web, is there any other? I am sure you will get a response shortly from one of our carb experts about your jet and metering question.

Welcome Jim, The notes I have for 3361 and 2 or .101 primary jet .0635 secondary jet........ I show a .069x.063 metering rod however this seems way too lean on power side. Maybe someone else has better number. Sorry, nothing on the 3783. :)
