425hp 409 cam

[425/409ER]

I have a friend who is after my 425hp cam (no lifters) and keeps offering me $50 for it and every time I tell him "no" but he will not stop asking. So guys, what's this cam really worth as I most likely not going to use it but I don't want to give it away either, gotta be worth more then $50. Cost me nothing for it to sit on the shelf.

I personally wouldn’t say it worth much more than that. I‘m guessing it’s a used cam with unknown Mileage. You can buy a new one for around 250.

I've got one out of a 348 that I can't give away. I know it's not the same, but related!!

Is it 63 or 64. There is a difference, the 64 original should be the 7735, same cam as the Z-11. Are they still available new?

Just my thought, I never use anything "used" in the cam department. If you are rebuilding, take it all the way, lifters, cam, push rods and rockers.

Humm....$50 you say. Funny I had a BBC L-88 cam and some guy paid me $300 for that one used no lifters.

I would never be so lucky. And I wouldn't buy a used flat tappet cam either unless there was nothing else.
