is it worth it buying an original GM dual quad aluminum intake manifold or is it better to buy the edelbrock? also does the GM intake fits all 409 heads?

Yes the Edelbrock is a much better part.No,they only fit the large port 690 and 583 heads.They did make one but they discontinued the one for the small port 817,1147,379 ect.heads.The GM intake is for large port heads .

The Edelbrock manifold outflows the factory intake a fair amount.

I think Aubrey showed a 20 or 30 hp difference when he did the comparisons between the stock the Edelbrock and his speed port

In his test with his combination,27 hp between the 340 horse intake and the Eddie in favor of the Eddie.

Which heads do you have and do you really want a dual quad like the 881? Just pop a valve cover off and give us the last 3 digits of the 7 digit casting number if you don't know.
