553 Bell Housing

Trying to determine the correct color for a 553 aluminum bellhousing in a 62 409 car. Natural cast finish, engine orange or natural cast with engine orange overspray from the front fading to the back? Concourse correct as delivered appearance. Any photos would be appreciated! Thanks, Marc

The engine was painted with the bellhousing in place so it would have color on it, but not necessarily full coverage. As I understand the process, the intent was not to paint the bellhousing, but to paint the engine. They just weren't concerned with overspray on it in the few seconds they had to spray as it moved along on the conveyor.

Thanks for the info. That is what I was guessing by the amount of overspray that we have seen.
