'59 floor shift hole

I need some help in finding out the exact location in the floor pan for the hole on
the factory 4 speed. If someone could give me the dimensions I would appreciate
it. In addition I have a later model ('62) borg warner T10 which has 2 locations
for the shifter mount. Which location is correct for the '59 floor shift location?
The one closest to the engine side or the one further to the rear of the engine
side?

In addition has anyone used the hurst linkage with the repo factory 4-speed
stick? I heard they set higher and caused a problem with the factory style
boot. Anyone eperience this? Thanks

the shift mount would be the furthest one back. the 57 58 59 t10s only had one mounting position. the floor pan didn't use a cover plate, just a round hole. PS if you are not trying to make a correct car, i would use the 60 floor pan cover plate and front mount on tranny. it's alot less trouble. no seat issues and you won't need the harder to find long shift rods.

'59 floor shift

thanks gh409, good information. does anyone know if the 60 floor plate
is available? how about the repo shifter with the hurst linkage, does
it set correct on height? also as I understand the 59 assembly manual
it references the shifter hole location off of the carpet dimensions, don't
understand that?
