63 Under dash lights & door edge guards

Bob, According to my '53 to '64 prices, options, and accessories book, the '63 Impala under dash, glove compartment, and trunk lights were standard equipment. The C & C option for the '63 Impala included outside rear view mirror, inside non glare mirror, and 2 speed wipers with washers. The door edge guards are not listed and appear to be dealer options.
You can leave the gas door guard off too!
OK, I'll re-evaluate... 
The door edge guards, scratch the paint, when you put them on, and cause rust to start under them.
Yes but without them, you bump the door into something and chip the paint, rust starts. Your in the same boat.
oh, and be sure to paint the skirts when you paint the car so they will match 
Well,at least get the rear window Venetian blind"s and the cool pack ac on the right side window!!!!
Find some 3m scotch guard door protector tape. I believe the number is 84901 if you really need the edge protected.
I use it on my truck. It's clear so you can't see it and it stops the nicks when you hit something when you open the door and hit items.
