alternator

Anyone using the small Nippondenso style alternators on their hotrod/race car? What amp are you using?

Yes and 60 but more might be better in some cases. I like the low mount and I don't have electric accessories other than ignition and fans.

Whaat? You mean you don't have alarms and HID lights and a kicking stereo with a big bass subwoofer and red or green or blue neon lights underneath and inside the car? It must be really slow without all that.

It is very slow. All the more reason not to light it up.

I run the ultra mini! 85 amp I think! I changed the voltage regulator in it to a 16v! Been running the minis for 10 or 12 years and no issues except like Boxerdog said might need a few more amps!!

I use one, not sure what make, I think 90 amp. but as everyone else said, could us more but amp., don't think they make any that will fit down under. I think the bracket kit was from Denny Ford, but don't recall.

What are the diameters of your crank & alternator pulleys? I have a set of the same brackets.
The crank pulley I have is 5.25". I think I would like a bit larger. The alternator is 2.75".
