Some people have claimed that aluminum rods will last just fine if not subjected to the racetrack level rpm's they are designed for,is there any truth to that or is it just wishful thinking?
Pontiac's H-O Racing(one of the first Pontiac parts guys and two engineers) in the late 70s early 80s used BMEs in street motors. Back then Pontiac had few good rod options other than Carillos($$). They seemed to do OK then but again need some heat in the motor before winging it.
I had always wondered about that, since they are used in small engines some that go for 2000 hours or more. But when they're done they're done and they don't have any qualms about telling you.
