Anyone remember why racers put clothes pegs on the fuel line as seen on the 61 Pontiac racer?....

I was told it was to held disipate heat to help prevent liquid from vaporizing within tubes

Guess my answer was wrong !!! Maybe they soften the vibration down on fuel line so fuel is not shaken too much to cause high pressure.
