I think the red primer underside stopped after 62. My 63 had black.

Learn something new all the time. Looking at the under carriage of this 64, it appears to be painted in light gray primer, with the rear side of the trunk well painted with a strip of dark black paint. I remember Vern FRANTZ telling us at a late great chevy convention, that the factory painted the rear of the trunk well with a strip of black paint so that it would hide the red primer when looking at the car from the rear. That was the part you would see under the rear bumper. That is what I did on my Red 62 Convertible with the red primer. When the car was being judged at AACA shows the judges would ask me why I had black paint on the red primer in the rear only!!!!
Just took delivery on a frame off 64 Biscayne wagon for my boss. Satin silver red interior, 327 4spd, tach a/c. Cool looking wagon
