:welcome2 Diezel. The cam that you're considering will definately work in an otherwise stock 250-280 horse 348.This little cam is about 1 step hotter than a 340 horse 409 cam.Very few people could hear the engine idle, and ever be able to tell you that the engine has a performance cam in it.You,however will notice a very nice increase in performance. You will have to change valve springs to use this cam.If you're running a stock 250 horse intake manifold, now's the perfect time to lose it[it stinks].Locate a 340 horse 409 intake.Your engine will reward you greatly.

If this engines apart, and unless you can find the original type steel shim head gaskets, you will need to have that block decked. These engines typically come out with the piston being .025-.030 down in the hole.Add the shim gasket's .020-022 crushed thickness and you'll get a quench area of .045-.052,wich is about where you want it.If you go past .060 here, your engine will suddenly become much more detonation prone.Conversly the minimum clearance here is about .034.The main problem is that the new head gaskets are from .051 and up,which is way too much.To the best of my informational sources, the steel shim gaskets are no longer made,so any that you can get will have to come from someones New Old Stock pile of stuff. We have a few members that live in your country,so you might network with them to help with your gasket search.Keep us posted as we love to help.

Yes,Scott,I believe that there is.I just can't remember who he is.He would be a "local" guy who'd be good to know,as this gentleman know's his stuff.I do remember that he has a shop that specialises in performance, and that he's involved with Drag Racing. For some reason,a 61 comes to mind.

Thank you for taking your time to help me with god answers and Tech info. I have to look around and see what i found , on ebay i cant found any thinner head gasket than 0,40 so im have to search at the web and see. Of course i post all info here about what happens and what i going to do with the Engine, but for now searching for the right parts is primary. And the right head gaskets is what i have to begin with, the one in my gasket set is unspecified thickness but i guess 060. I will be back soon with a lot of new questions i guess and it feels real fine to have your support here!

Start looking for valve springs to the cam from Howards i bought, send an quest to them what they recomend. Answer from Howards was
Spring part #98438. Maybe its the right stuff but in my ears dual springs is overkill to my cam. What are you say in here? The cam is the Howards
130101-12.

They will be fine here, but I think that Howards kit number 98113-k1 would be a better choice. If you go that route, you'll need to specify that you're using 3/8 valve stems in order to get the correct retainers and valve stem seals.

Thanks, yes im interested but im afraid that the shipping will be to expensive cause this iron intakes is so heavy. Via the global shipping program (ebay) it will be around 200$. and to that i have to add the price of the item. But thanks a lot for your offer!

I too have one that I may not use since I already have a couple of Eddie single carb small port intakes. It'll be cheaper than a new Eddie would be even with shipping.

Welcome Diezel! Shipping from USA to Sweden or Norway is ungodly expensive. A few winters ago i shipped a box that maybe weighed 4 kilos to Norway. It cost almost $180 shipping.
