Any hoo.. I swapped out the rear carb needle and seats with Edelbrock 1465 which are off road types with a spring in the center. Old AFB's I heard had this not sure though
After resetting the floats pressure testing the sucker everything seems happy now
No rolling fog coming from the shop, header temps down and it happily idles at about 1k. Still need to swap in clean plugs. So next is a short road trip later this week to do some more testing. They never work right outside the shop you know
I will probably change the front carbs needle and seats sometime but I'ev learned enough about AFBs this week.
