Does anyone know how much a cast iron power glide weighs for shipping purposes. The transmission is out of a 1959 impala and includes the torque converter.

Too much
I rebuilt one many years ago and I tour it down in the bed of my truck and took the peaces in one at a time to clean and resael then assembled it on the bench and could not pick it up to put it back in the bed of the truck.

Looks like the Aluminum PG alone is 115 pounds.
From what I could find in a quick google search, the cast iron could be up to 150.
I'd guess between 30 & 40 pounds for the TC since it is hard to get all the fluid out.

Realistically....probably 3-400 pounds. It's gonna be heavy!!!

I think the cast iron weighed 150 more than an aluminum, not sure if that includes the torque converter and the spacer or not. I'd say 300 lbs would be in the neighborhood. Does not include the weight of the mud caked to the outside because it leaked.
