Cast piston/cam/help!!

I'm working on building a hipo 348 for my 58 Chevy and need help picking a cam with the cast pistons. I was told that buy using the cast pistons I was quite limited in my cam choices, does that sound correct? What's the max. lift and dur. at .050 I can get using the cast pistons, I plan on using solids.

I'd love to setup and get the Ross pistons, just not sure it's in the budget.

If you plan on hotrodding that engine forged pistons are a must !!!

Nothing like saving a few dollars then spending a ton later after a piston fails,,,dq
