Hi Guys
I've scored a set of 4 old Auto Drags, 15 x 3 1/2" fronts and 15 x 8 1/2" rears. They are polished in really good condition and have held air for over a week now with no leaks. The fronts have a manufacture stamping date of 5-79 and also stamped is "Bias Tires Only"and the rears are stamped 02-87 with no mention of tire to be used.
As many would know, they are a two piece forged design being strong and light. What are the thoughts about running radials on the fronts? Have any of you guys had any issues?

Just checked Dave, the front wheels are 1520lb load rating, the tires would be about the same. I think total race weight should end up no more than 3900lb with the new alloy block, I'm thinking they'll be ok. I'll only be driving locally with these, about an hour out to Sydney Dragway and then back home again. Any further than that will be with my 15 x 5 steelies and dog dish caps.

The Texas Harley was sold to Jim Sellers sometime in the late nineties and became the Prehistoric Rat driven by Jim MacKenzie. Then it was sold to Bob Cruise who put a small block in it for his wife. She hit the wall with it at National Trial the year the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion was held there. I have some pictures of it but I’m not at my pc right now.

Around 5 years ago I scored a set of Auto Drags 15X5 and 15X8's for $125 for the set. the 8's would not fit nothing I owned so I traded them for a set of 4 15X7's. I had a set on the Biscayne last year but the kid hates them, I love them so I will toss them on my Firebird. Just a note, if you want them to look like new if they are the satin finish like mine, Eagle 1 makes some etching wheel cleaner that makes Centerlines look like new.
