My Weimaraner used to do that with the 42" gate, so we got a 48" gate, and it didn't phase her.. She could clear the top without even breaking a sweat. Only when she got older did she stop jumping the gate. The gate was to keep her out of the kitchen, but when she wanted in, she would just jump the gate, then pick up her bowl, and drop it on the floor to get your attention that she wanted to be fed. If the gate was open, she would pick up the bowl, and bring it to you and drop it at your feet.View attachment 90872

Especially when you have 2 Weimaraner's and a Mini Dachshund. Care to guess how she got that high up on the chair? She climbed up onto the back of the Weimeraner, and then jumped up. He would let her do anything, but the female Weimaraner had no patience for the Mini Dachshund, and on more than one occasion would go after her, but her good buddy always protected her. The 2 Weimaraner's were brother and sister.
