Cross Ram hood clearence

One of the collest cars in the neighborhood growing up was a green metalfkake 57 CHEVY with a tear drop scoop!

In fact the early 60s Pontiac SD cars uses a Ford truck scoop.

Man I thought that a 57 hood would clear the cross ram.When I bought the 61 impala that had this motor in it .It had a stock hood on it .Its been so long ago I can't remember how it cleared .Seems he had the back of the hood raised up maybe.

Kevin: Are you saying that you had a clearance problem in a 57?. My 56 Nomad had a 427 with a cross ram in it and I had no clearance problems at all. Ken
