Exhaust Crossover

Last nite I threw on a set of 26 year old used glass packs, ones I had on it in HS, with 3" pipe from 3 1/2" collectors ran it back to the rear wheel. Sounds beauty full to me.:brow

glad this thread came back up,been going to ask this question for a long time. the 348 in my old truck really gets to kackling about 2600 rpm's so loud it sounds like the rods are knocking. didnt do this untill I filled the exaust crossover with molten aluminum last time I had the intake off. Question would an exaust crossover help and if so how big, and where at? keep in mind this is a big truck that pulls 48,000 lbs and never sees more than 3800 rpm. am looking for the most bottom end torque with the placement of a crossover. Thanks for the help.

crossover ?

Yes a crossover will help. That is common for the exhaust note to change tone and make the cackling sound after you fill the crossover. Crossover should be as close to the header collector as possible.
