Factory HP Race is on???

Is the factory horse power race on? Just reading the new Hot Rod mag. (April)
The new LS9/ZR1 Vett will be blown, Eaton blower @ 10.5 PSI. Estamited power 620 HP & 600 lbs. torque. Only $100,000.00

Viper ACR 600 HP V-10, lot of up grades, another $100,000.00.

Challenger SRT8 Hemi, 425 HP (6000 buyers have ordered) only $40,095.00 plus a $2,100.00 gas-guzzler tax.

Shelby GT500KR, 540 HP & 510 lbs. of torque-no price.
Shelby Super Snake, two versions, 600 Hp and 725 HP, both super charged.

GMC may bring back the Caballero (El Camino) with the LS2 that powers the Holden Commodore in Australian.

GET THIS! Some guy that loves AMXs is going to produce the complete AMC line.
Javelin,Gremlin, Pacer and something called the AMX4. With V12 and runs 220 MPH.
So it appears the HP race is on, but only a few can aford to join in.

I would not bet on it due to government policies that are going to make sales or MPG difficult to obtain. I am seeing this in "my world".

i would much rather spend my money on the older cars. Lot more fun . we got a local guy who bought a 07 gt500 stang. was told only making the 500hp for07, collectors item, very rare, investment, etc. paid $60K for it. sticker was 43K. waits like 6 months to get it, then a month later the announce the 08 gt500 will have 540 hp. even better, someone intown, bought the twin to it!

yea it makes 500hp, but it dosent turn heads, or sound like my 63 or 55( which i have under $30K into both!)
