I have fired up the '61 348 Tri Power I built for Mark & Annie's Bubbletop.
It fired into life easily but had a low speed stumble which smoothed out as revs increased.
It seems to be the middle carburetor at fault, if I put my hand over the carb throat when running, it smooths out, so I disassembled the carb to see what could be wrong, all I found was suspected air bleed plugged.
These carbs were built by a TriPower specialist in Pennsylvania. What I saw in the carbs was good workmanship, so I suspect the plugging has happened during the waiting time since they arrived early this year.
I have tested the vacuum, and have 18" and no detectable leaks.
Also of note, is the need to have maximum idle speed to enable it to run.

It turned out to be the center carb idle needle orifices which had been fractured by needles forced in a former life. Probably used as end carb bases with idle screws forced closed.
I have substituted temporarily a "D" base, which performs ok until the US supplier ships another base to me.

Hey Rod,
Bloody excellent. I know that they are both itching to get the car down south here.
Caught up with them a couple of weeks ago and went round a few sheds. think they enjoyed themselves.

I will be up your way this coming week and passing through probably lateish Wednesday afternoon. Would you be up for a visitor.
Will call you once i know a closer time.

Have you removed the video! Doesn't appear to be there!

I don't know. It was posted but not shown, at least not when I looked. How are you supposed to insert videos?

I tried to insert a video last evening and all that appeared was a blank box. That was through YouTube. Don't know if they changed their code or linking or what's going on.
