Hello all. I am a retired hydraulic systems specialist. I designed drives for manufacturing facilities and mobile equipment. I have owned three 62 Impalas, my current ride is attached. I believe the car was originally driven by a 283 as it had a cast iron glide with an over-the -counter 327. I have since installed a 300HP clone with an aluminum glide. It has factory AC, a 63 intake and a 64 AFB carb. My first car was the same color but the top was body color. Love these cars. Great website.

I checked the miles driven for the yellow car in my log book and have averaged 270 miles/year over the last 10 years. I live in the rainy NW and never drive these cars in the rain so they don't get much exercise. I have not washed the yellow one since 2006 and the Impala arrived clean from a seller in CA about 7 years ago and I have never washed it. Just changed the wheels and tires and waxed it. Plus a motor/trans rebuild.

I was toying with the idea of changing the color of my 66 Chevelle SS. It's originally mist blue metallic but it doesn't do it for me. :D I think that butternut yellow and my black vinyl top would be the cats pajama's. :love
