Has anyone tore up a stock driveshaft?

It's these stupid X frame cars, everything's double what the same parts would be for a tri five or an A-body. You do get what you pay for though. Inland Empire builds some really nice stuff.

Nice 64 btw looks great in white. I love 61-64 post cars

Check a good driveshaft shop. Spicer used to make a forged version of that cast piece. If you're worried about the quality on the yoke, ask them for the brand you want.

Does Inland Empire make a one piece driveshaft with 1350 on both ends for a TKX 5 speed and 9 inch rear?
What happens in the area of the original steady bearing?

A one piece driveshaft will only work if you open up the frame in the X area.

I think that before i ever built another X frame car, I would build a 64-65 Chevelle with a 409 and use the technology available for them. That way, you could have the fun of the 409 and take advantage of the A body technology. That would have to be a better way to go.

You're right, but dang it works great.
