I have a 1963 BelAir 409/400hp. what would be the best Edelbrock Carb. to buy new.

Wish It had the original carburetor I would definitely do that. but it has a Edelbrock 1407 on it and it stumbles starting off. It probably cost half of what a new one would cost to rebuild it, and they might not get it right!
what date code is your car/engine stamp ? 63 car it is 3499 to early -64 400 hp late 64-65 400hp then 3783. I have a M4 (dec 64 model year) complete but will need rebuilt.

Get the new Eddy 800 Thunder carburetor, it works amazing. I had one on my 454 and did a test at the track and it ran pretty respectable and was only down 2 tenths and 2 mph form my 1000 Mighty Demon that day. Well worth the money and way better then the Eddy 750.

I believe that Show Cars sells an adapter to use the stock air cleaner housing on a ''modern;'' carb.I had one,remember who I sold it too,likely cis avcaileable.
