They had a banquet for our terminal having driven 1,000,000 miles along with my million individual miles Saturday evening. It was held at the Hollywood Casino in Joliet.

Anyhow, after the festivities my wife and I proceeded to help the casino pay the light bill. As we strolled down to the caasino I spotted an elderly gent sitting alone on a ledge next to his wheelchair. He was just kinda staring at the floor. I look for hats proclaiming veterans all the time. I noticed his hat said WWII Veteran and as I got closer I could read flyboy embroidered in the center of the hat and approached him, then noticed a B24 embroidery also. I and my wife shook his hand and thanked him for his service which brought a beautiful smile to his face. It also brought a sharp response. He shot right up and proclaimed "and I'd go back tomorrow if they'd let me!!". Quite a guy. So off went to the slots.

Here's the a$$ part. :bang Thinking back on that meeting today I am so pissed I didn't sit and converse with him longer. These vets are passing at the rate of 1000 a day now. It won't be long before they are all gone.

Anyway, hope we madehis day a little brighter.

Salute
