Dave, All intake shields are the same (348 or 409) I have several off truck intakes. I will buy a truck intake at swap meets (CHEAP) just for the shield. So many of the old intakes have been setting around and the shields are full of rust holes or beat up and I have replaced several on intakes . I will be in Austin over Thanksgiving, let me know if you are interested.

The Edelbrock dual quad has bosses for a factory splash pan underneath also.

Good to know I too am missing the shield.
How would you guys recommend attaching the shield as they are riveted on from the factory?

I drilled and tapped the Edelbrock intake. Allen head bolts blue loctite and safety wires!

Thanks guys. I was worried that down the road the bolts or whatever used would vibrate out and cause trouble

Loctite might have been OK but I felt better with safety wire, Did that on the Stef's pan tray also after Teflon coating it.
