The rivets I have pulled were fluted. I do like Dave mentioned above, a drop of red loctite and back it. A little tightening of the hole first like mentioned would be a good idea.
I have never seen these "type U" rivets/screws in a Chevy, but they will probably work. Ford used that type. Don't remember about Chrysler.
McMaster Carr has these at bottom. Look real close to the Chevy style. Kinda pricey. Not sure what style SC sends with their intake manifold splash shield. They might sell the fasteners separately.

One way that I have used before is to drill the existing holes (if needed) and tap 10-24, , then safety wire them with .025 or .032 safety wire. You'll need drilled head screws or just use AN drilled fasteners.
