They make there own spark.
Still run points.
Have to have a ground to kill it.
Most have the advance locked out.
Firewall clearance can be tight.
Ran them in the sprint cars.
Easy to set timing with the engine not running if locked.

And you need a good hold down clamp.

See if it only has one terminal on the side,this would be the shut-off.Pick it up and with one hand turning it clock-wise,place your other hand near one of the wire sockets.If it knocks you on your butt,it even works.

I had one once and tried to take it apart, I spun the shaft with an air gun while holding the cap end, HOLY SHXT
Felt like my entire arm was slammed with a 10lb sledge and run over by a semi truck
It didn't take long to learn when the mag was out of the sprint car and someone was checking it out you just stayed away from them tell they put it down.
