It is an original L78 396...rated 375 hp in Nova...same motor rated 425 in a corvette. It is a local car I've known it since it was new

My youngest sister had one that was bare bones stock with the small V8. I do mean bare heater & radio is it.
Darn car fooled many at a stoplight on Woodward Ave.
Fun to drive.

The main reason for the difference in ratings was the exhaust manifolds.

When we did the motor it went back to OEM specs...but with a hydraulic cam. Work was done in a race shop so machine work was a bit better. Just for fun we ran it on the dyno..actually made the 425 hp
