Long Island New York Racing

Hi I was reading an old thread on this form about racing in New York and a current or former member TONY0707 was discussing racing his 63 409 in this area in the 60's. He mentioned that people would come up with names of their cars and paint them on their front fenders. He listed off a few that he remembered and one that he mentioned was my dad's. It was a 62 ss 409/409 that he called "White Lady". I would love to hear the stories or see pictures from anyone that grew up during this time and n.y. area. THANK YOU

Grew up on LI in the 70’s. I wish I had some pics. Names on cars were really popular back then. Around my town we had some beautiful cars. 70 Nova ( The North Wind) 66 Goat ( Tigs Toy) 70 big block Camaro(The Godfather) 66 Chevelle ( Black Magic) I remember all the National Speedway winner stickers and Street is Neat on all the cars. Loved the 70’s on Long Island. I still do my cars with the Old School
