Modern oils chewing up my motor?

one thing my engine builder has noticed is that it's not just the cam and lifters that are wearing but also the timing gears, chain, bearings and wrist pins. The old motors just don't like modern oil.
Joe Gibbs is good stuff but did you know that the Walmart 30W oil that comes from Mexico still has all the goodies in it! No pollution controls there
