Thought I'd say hi...as we get deeper into this project i'll be bugging everyone with questions...so i'll just ease into it.
Project:
"64 Daytona Blue 2dr Sport Coupe (Impala) - orig 283 v8 - orig engine not present - we will fit her with a 327 or 409...
i'm the motor/drivetrain/suspension guy...buddy is the body man.
my background - 27 yrs ago i began building my first 1/4 miler - 68 rs/ss camaro with a 454 from a 72 'vette - 9.0:1 comp w/some help from a (weiand?) small capacity blower w/4 side-draft carbs. All fit under a ram-air hood. 4"tub on each side for cheaters (w/mudflaps to hide 'em). Can you say "SLEEPER" - after 2 years of building - 11.3 @124
I'm interested in seeing what happens with an engine (these "w"s) that is more "sqare" than standard. this will be a runner, not in high tune and carrying some serious weight, but hopefully energetic. I think this config wont put out the low end torque but will be quite zippy from 2k - 6k (7, 8k?)
