I don't know much about 409s. I am rebuilding LBJ's 1965 Glastron boat. The marine place that owned the boat before me removed the starter and are looking for it, but need to know what it looks like. Looking at the bellhousing it seems the bolts connect horizontally, in line with the starter. Is that called flange mount? Are all 409 starters like this? Please provide me a pic.
