New 59 Biscayne project from Iowa

Hello from southern Iowa! Found this site while looking for info on my next project. Its a 59 Chevy Biscayne 2 door coupe which had originally a v8 and auto trans. Previous owner has done all the rust repair and stripped the car down to the bones. I have all the trim, interior, windows, etc. with the exception of the drivetrain. Luckily I have the option of a 66 300hp 327 or a rebuilt 500hp 454 to choose from along with a Muncie 4 speed. Other plans are to put a 12 bolt posi from a 65 Chevelle in it, lower the car, put in AC, power steering and who knows what else. This looks like a great source of info and I am looking forward to contributing and asking lots of questions. Other projects in the works are a 52 Chevy 5 window pickup, 59 4 door Biscayne bought at the Lambrect Auction in nebraska a few years back, and a 65 Covair Monza Convertible.

Welcome aboard!

The general consensus is that your '59 has one the best GM dashes of that era, lasting only two years.

There is only one drive train replacement that I would consider for your build if it were mine :) :) :).

I've got a couple of 348s that would be right at home in that body, and I'm not that far from you in Columbia, MO.

Cheers!
