Ideally having all the air pulled through the shroud go through the radiator, these cars as well as many early GMs the design did not seal well around it, but additional sealing will not look "factory". Having a clutch fan vs a flex fan cools better(an article in Car Craft or Hot Rod a few years ago), blades around halfway in and half out of shroud.
