Oil weight, rpm and oil pressure

Was on the dyno today with this '55 265 NHRA Super Stock engine.

Savvy sorts will connect the dots re: oil pressure, rpm and viscosity. 5w20 in the pan.

Always makes me smile to see people running 20w50 in their street engines for "...durability". The bearings on this engine are in their third season.

In same vane of thought...we run 0w10...above 9k RPM...maintains pressure...zero bearing issues

While we could argue the quality and source for some of the products that are sold at Wal Mart being why I don't shop there, primarily I avoid it because of some of the people that frequent it. However in fairness to Wal Mart, I avoid all places like it too.

RussC has it right. I also use Royal Purple (HPS) High Performance Street oil 10W-40.
