I asked for one for Christmas.

In 1975, I had too many vehicles and had to let one go. I put my '62 Impala 2-Dr HT, 396, 4-Speed up for sale. The 396 had a 375 Horse Solid Lifter Cam, Edlebrock Hi-Rise, Dual Feed Holley, Hooker Headers, 409 Starter and a 427 Clutch. Trans was a Muncie M-21 with a Hurst Comp Plus Bench Seat Shifter. Car was in Good Condition with Chrome Wheels in Front and Airlift Air Bags in the Rear Springs. Now this was in the middle of the gas crunch with pretty high gas prices to boot, especially for premium. Decided to ask for $650 for it. It took months to sell and finally let it go for $575. Today you can't even buy a Trans for $575, lol.

3 Years later in 1978 I bought my '62 for 125 Dollars. And still own it 45 years later.
