really, dont use any of that pertronix crap. it's been nothing but trouble for most guys.
i use a single point and msd6. never a problem.

You have to match the coil to the pertronix unit. The pertronix 2 needs a coil designed for the 2 and the other pertronix takes its own coil they have differant resistance ratings. I think one is 1.6 ohms and the pertronix 2 is a lower ohm rating. If you use the wrong coil it will burn out the pertronix unit. I hope this helps. John

I have sold and run dozens of the Pertronix unit w/o any problems. I have one I need to install after I get the new mill sorted out and broken in.
