There is lots of expertise on here........... and you can get almost any information you want.......... but as far as advice goes you'll have to give a little more information....... the QB is a heart stopper but what do you want as an end result??? Cruiser, race engine, weekend tire burner.... what car are you putting it into......... I would say you could have anywhere between 400 and 600 plus horsepower out of that engine..........

I want a Cruiser/weekend tire burner. I might put it in my 64 Impala SS or a 63 409 impala what am i looking at. By the way it is a 814 motor sorry about the pic it is hard to see.

Try some bigger photos. But pretty nice for sure. I am old and the eyes are not what they use to be. The 63 would be cool with a 409. So would the 64 my personal choice is the 63. :crazy:crazy

For a weekend cruiser/tire burner you don't need to stroke it........ but it's always an option.......

Does anyone have the link to all of those builds that Jim did sometime back????....... 64impalass and a lot of the new members would enjoy & learn a lot from reading those.

Depends on the budget and the intent...on my QB, I left it as original internally and externally as I could; stock crank, rods(?), lightened Ross pistons, newer grind solid cam, 583s, stock intake, carbs etc. You could probably put it in a numbers car if needed.

But on the side, I am building a bigger one using a 656 block, BWR heads, etc. I just felt like preserving as much of the QB combo as I could for now.

Thanks to w ogden that will be very helpful. I just found out from my godfather that the motot have been bore out before. The only bad thing he don't know how much. I dont know if that a good thing or what. Sorry guy about the pics I am still working on bigger ones.:bang
