Question.....1960 Impala w/348

I just bought a 1960 Impala . Car has a 348 motor and a turboglide tranny. The Cowl tag reads body style 1837 (v8 sports coupe) . But the vin# is a 1737 ( L6 sports coupe). Neither vin or cowl looks to have been tampered with. Which should I go by? Thanks

VIN tag wins. The Body (Trim) Tag always shows a V8 model number as Fisher Body wasn't concerned with whether it was a V-8 or a 6.
There's a long explanation for why that is, but I don't have it handy.

Yes, all trim tags say V8, VIN is correct one. Now that we know it's not OG, install a 409/4 spd and have some fun:cheers

I will just pull it , sell the '60 and put the 348 in my '59. Problem solved.. The '59 has a weak 283 in it now. And it is a V8 car
