Boy............I bet this title gets Tommy's attention!!!!

Anyway...being in the mail order business......I don't get to meet in person probably 5% of my customers...and see even less of their cars. So when I plan a road trip...I try to see as many of these friends and cars as I can. Here is an example.

The last time I saw this car 15 years ago..it was in primer at the body shop. Now it's all done!! It is a REAL true 61 Super Sport and still has it's original block. Honduras Maroon with the grey interior. True 350HP 4-speed and posi. The power seat and windows were added during the restoration. It has still has an original 4-speed console!!It scored either 998or 999 last year at the Late Great Convention in Idaho. There isn't anything that sounds like a solid lifter engine!!!!

I took one of my friends with me to see it............AND HE BOUGHT IT RIGHT THERE!!! The 2 guys didn't know each other and lived about 15 miles apart!! It is really a gorgeous car!!! What was really neat..........on the garage wall was a professionally framed and matted 18"x24" color picture..............of the car when it was first found in a salvage yard!! The transformation from the junk yard picture to what was setting in the garage was stunning!!!

Phil out of curiosity, how do you know this is the "real" deal? I mean short of this guy being the original owner, window stickers are reproduced (forged) protecto plates are forged, etc etc. How does one really know for sure any more?

Also did they have power windows in 61? If so that's bad ass. I was shocked when I bought a 65 impala one time for 200 $ only to discover it had power windows and since I've seen them for 64's also.

Wow! What a looker! I always felt the '61 SS and '61 409 were the neglected cars over the '61-'64 SS 409 years. I can't tell you how many times so called vintage car experts tell me a 409 nor SS never existed in '61. Kind of like the Z-16 Chevelle in '65. @real61ss , is your '61 jewel or midnight blue? Pretty color.

Thanks! Now I know, I found a '61 Bel air 2-door sedan I want to build into a 348 280 HP tri power Impala 2-door sedan with SS trim. Midnight blue is the color I was after
