So I disassembled the posi and it is destroyed. One side gear (driver side) has almost all the teeth ground off the passenger side has about 5 teen broken off and some ground down. The spider gears have one to four teeth shucked off each one of them:eek:and both axle bearing outer raced somehow got cracked and broken. So since those are destroyed, and I couldn't find any replacement gears for a posi, I set out to find a good open carrier to put in it so I could at least move it around. I found two 3rd members one minus the ring gear and a bad pinion gear, and one that was complete with 3.08 gears turned over good they both had been sitting for a little bit but both checked out ok. I get them home start disassembling the "good" one to check the bearings and make sure it was usable and find out that pinion has 3 teeth shucked off of it. So now I have 3 3rd members and nothing to put in my car. God I wish I had the money for a nine inch F@$%. So does anyone have a ring and pinion they want to get rid of... If you do please PM me. Sorry about the length I just cant believe that I didn't see the 3 shucked teeth on the "good" 3rd member.

That's pretty ugly. Bad deal. Whale oil sure aint gonna fix that one. Don't have any parts for that.
