REAR WINDOW TRIM CLIPS

I have a 61 Impala 2 door sedan. After installing the rear window the aftermarket clips seem too short.
The lower chrome trim won't grab the clips. The clips seem like a 1/16" short.

Another guy in Ontario building the same car has the same problem.

I was hoping somebody has a cure for this. Are the aftermarket clips actually shorter than factory.

It is quite possible the aftermarket stuff is wrong, especially for your car. Have any of the originals to compare them to?

I hva e a GM book with pics and part numbers for the rear window mouldings for a 61, the bottom one in front of the trunk is the same on all the cars with the overhang, the rest have different part numbers. You may need originals only, nothing reproduction.

Thanks Don, I wish I had kept one of the original clips, but I thought the new ones would be the same size.
I will have to try and search out some original stuff.

Maybe give this guy a call. Sedan is different than HT or bubble top. His clips are longer. See second pic on auction.

My parts book says the rear window moulding bottom only clips are the same on the 61-63 post cars, 2 and 4 door, but not the pillarless cars. It doesn't say for 64, but likely the same.
