Backset? You mean the offest trunnions ? Pushrod length on the SS vs the aluminum is slightly different.
I have 1.8 0.090 offset BBC on my Pontiac- and to get a decent pattern the pushrod ios way shorter than my nirmakl Pontiac rockers. Mocking up the aluminum the same length did not have the same pattern.

I call it backset because that's what they were called in a post I found in here from back in 2012 when someone found them. And I plan on double checking the length when I receive them.

They are good quality pieces. It is also good to check actual lift for actual ratio on any rockers any brand. My HS 1.65s for Pontiacs generally go 1.71! Could be a potential P-V or coil bind issue assuming they are correct. Also a different pushrod can cause a slight different actual ratio also.

Comp's SS BBF are actually BBC with a 0.045 offset.
