I knew Pro Stock turned some serious RPM . I always wondered how a 500 cid bbc could turn 10.000 - 12,000 .
Now I learn that they're doing it by adopting a huge bore , with a 3.50"-ish stroke ( seems that I've seen that before ?
).
So the big announcement , the big "discovery" , is that they found that decking the block down , so they can use a shorter rod , is helping make power ( so much for the late Smokey Yunick's commandment ) .
1/4" - 1/2" shorter stroke than the block was intended to use , and they discover that they need shorter rods ?
no schitt Sherlock
sorry
