Yep, 4 inches shorter than the 4L60. But, the longer the trans, the easier it is to go to the one piece shaft.

Yes, but im not cutting my frame up to fit a one piece drive shaft because my frame is reinforced, powder coated, and finished waiting on me to finish the body. So two piece it is

I ran a TH400 in mine for years. You can get the angles close enough for pretty smooth running with the 2 piece. Just an observation, the original style sloppy rubber center bearing is much smoother in a slight mis-alignment condition. When I added the aluminum version, I could feel a slight vibration in the tunnel that wasn't there with the original.
