Welcome Monkeywrench, tell us what you have. You can post it in the For Sale section also.

60 348 335hp engine almost everything but carbs. I believe would make a real good engine to rebuild. I have a idea what’s it worth but not sure.

That’s a cool engine for sure!!! Neat to see those pistons. If you haven’t already you should get all the casting #s, and date codes and suffix code rounded up, interested folks will want those. I am assuming that by looking at your picture that this engine hasn’t been “checked” out as far as cracks etc. So that will be a factor in considering the value.

Block T0323FH 5011 dated C1660
Heads 1147s B260 and B1960
Intake 9943 D1816
I have a distributor but sure the date is correct 1110919 9E18
exhaust 2793 2794
So I just need to have block pressure checked and heads checked for cracks also cylinder wear

Tell the machine shop that you are wanting to sell it and that you want to know of any problem areas so that you can represent it as it is. Take as much guess out of it for the buyer and you can usually get more $.It will need to be disassembled so if you are comfortable with that then do that. Take everything to him, who knows you might have good pistons, crank and so forth. You definitely have a rare engine and I hope it checks out good!
Concerning codes; I thought the suffix code would be FE,,,the FH is a 350 hp even better!
1147 heads seem right and are the large valve heads.
Intake: could it be 9948 instead of 9943
Distributor: it is a dual point and correct for the application,,,, I am not sure what the 9E18 means, maybe May 18,1959?

Exhaust manifolds: well they aren’t the right ones unfortunately they are the 250/280 hp ones.
I am not 100% sure about the info that I have here, so hopefully if something is wrong someone will enlighten us.

Regarding the machine shop, make them aware of the fact that these blocks are prone to cracks just under the deck ( above the freeze plugs and under the heads). He will likely magnaflux it.

Great help by the way many thanks! I like dealing with you older cats. I can understand the need in having these engines checked out. I was wrong on the intake casting it is a 9948 casting. As for the distributor I agreed that the tag has a date of may 18 1959. I’m aware that the exhaust manifolds are not correct. I will get the engine tore down cleaned checked out and we go from there

just an observation on the suffix code,,,IMHO the H looks like it may have been added after the fact :dunno2, but I have never seen one so I am just saying. Don’t want to cause you a problem but it may come up.

I thought the same thing. The “H” doesn’t match the other stampings. I’m far from an expert on this. Just an observation.
